You can take Kumanoyu 3rd quad lift without ski/snowboard equipment and play with snow at the summit! Kumanoyu ski resort also has kids snow park and rent sleds for kids free in charge.

There are four kids snow parks in Shiga Kogen. These are perfect places to first snow experience and play with snow, sledding, snow scoot etc.

Snow monkey park
At the snow monkey park, you would encounter wild monkeys immersing themselves in the hot spring and enjoying the warmth of the water. It occurs only in Snow Monkey Park in the world! Don’t miss this photogenic moment.

Onsen tour around Yudanaka and Shibu onsen town
Yudanaka onsen and Shibu onsen are traditional onsen resorts at the bottom of the Shitga Kogen. Enjoy old Japanese onsen villages and open-air foot baths. You can visit by local bus in 30mins from Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki bus stop.
There are some onsens which are open for visitors.
【Kaede no yu at yudanaka onsen area】
Just front of Yudanaka station, this onsen is easy to access! There is an open-air foot bath too.
【Oyu at Shibu onsen area】
Nine onsens at Shibu are only for the guests lodge at this area but, Oyu, one of these onses is available for visitors. Please visit Shibu Onsen visitor center and ask for more details.
【Waku Waku no Yu】
This onsen is near by the snow monkey park. If monkeys make you feel like a hot spring, you can go this onsen by walk!
